Bold Path Counseling, PLLC provides evidence based, culturally sensitive, and trauma informed services for individuals experiencing Anxiety Disorders and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), new parents experiencing stressors related to the addition of a child to their family, stress related to family planning and pregnancy, and individuals hoping to recover from perfectionism.

You may if you have difficulty controlling the worries or stressors you experience. Anxiety is the most common mental health issue in the US and is 100% treatable. There are different types of anxiety disorders, but Generalized Anxiety Disorder is by far the most common. Some symptoms of GAD include difficulty concentrating, muscle tension, feeling on edge or jumpy, irritability, difficulty controlling worries, changes to appetite, sleep, and within relationships, and symptoms are often intrusive and disruptive. Treatment usually begins with learning tools and skills to help better manage the worry and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in order to better understand the relationship of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders include anxiety and mood disorders during pregnancy as well as in the postpartum period. Frequently these disorders are lumped together under the term Postpartum Depression, however this is just one PMAD. PMADS include perinatal or postpartum anxiety, depression, OCD, and psychosis.

The perinatal period is the time period before birth and includes trying to conceive and pregnancy. The postpartum period is typically considered up to one year after the birth of a child, but often can last long after.
